About us

Chester’s School of Samba – Karamba Samba – has been performing, running workshops and spreading the word about samba in the Chester area for several years. We are a band of around 15 to 20 players from all walks of life, all passionate and proud of the music we make together.

The band is available for bookings, and plays across a wide range of venues, from festivals and village fetes, to weddings and birthdays.

Click here for our Gig List. Samba music creates a great atmosphere and the infectious rhythm invariably has people dancing. We also hold workshops for all ages.

New members are always very welcome. Come and join us – it’s a great way to rid yourself of the stresses of daily life (you get to hit things really hard!). Rehearsals take place every Thursday evening at the City of Chester Brass Band room on Bedward Row, between 8.00 and 10.00 pm. Click here for directions.
