News
Haiti
At our rehearsal
on Thursday 14 January 2010 our minds were full of the
terrible news of the devastating earthquake in Haiti.
Seeing
as we had
been invited to take part in the fundraising efforts for the
tsunami relief a
few years ago we wanted to do a similar effort for this new devastation.
We
decided to busk in front of the town hall in Chester on the
following
Saturday and see what happened.
The
signs were good when we got people putting £20 notes in our collecting buckets before
we started
even playing.
At
the end of an hour and a half of extremely enjoyable and
enthusiastic playing led by the unstoppable Dave we decided
to let
Chester get back to some peace and quiet as we went to
Telfords Warehouse for a well deserved drink and to count up
our takings.
We
were bowled over to discover (after a lot of counting)
that we had taken
just a few pounds short of two thousand pounds; well
done the people of
Chester.
